US Energy Efficiency Business Delegation to Germany
Nov 5-7, 2008, Berlin, Germany
From November 5th-7th of this year the GACC California Branch organized its first “US Energy Efficiency Business Delegation to Germany”. It took place in Berlin and its surrounding states and included a conference, B2B meetings, site visits, and plenty of networking opportunities.
The delegation buildt on the success of our 2007 “Solar Business Delegation to Germany” which offered 13 leading US solar companies unparalleled insight into the German solar community and on our well-received first “Energy Efficiency in Buildings Symposium” which took place in March of this year.
Site visits in Berlin and its surrounding states included a tour of the Federal Environmental Agency (Umweltbundesamt -UBA-) in Dessau (a highlight of architecture and energy-efficient design), a visit to Europe's largest low-energy building (HOWOGE Niedrigenergiehau Berlin), and a visit to a Berlin based manufacturer of energy efficient windows, amongst many others. The US-delegation continued on to the R&D labs of Xella, one of the world’s leading companies in the fields of insulation and autoclaved aerated concrete for the building industry. In the US market Xella is represented by its Atlanta based subsidiary Xella Aircrete North America Inc.
